Our Story: A Legacy of Dance & Joy

The Studio School of Dance was founded in 1979 in downtown Olathe, Kansas by Kim Bowen Harbour. Soon after, the Studio moved to its own building at Ridgeview & Kansas City Road, where it continued to grow for many years.

Over the years, the Studio has been lovingly led by former students who were inspired to give back to the place that shaped them.

• Megan Jensen Burdette, a graduate of The Studio, ran the Studio for 9 years before pursuing a new career path.
   
• Jennie Storm, a former graduate, purchased the Studio in 2013 and ran it for five years.
   
• In 2018, sisters Diane and Molly who began dancing at The Studio at just three years old became the next owners! Their lifelong connection to the Studio inspires everything they do, from creating exceptional dance education to building a welcoming community where every dancer feels encouraged, challenged, and celebrated.
   

Today, The Studio School of Dance continues to be a place where lifelong friendships are formed, confidence grows, and a love of dance is nurtured for every student who walks through our doors.
